RE: Water tank has a drain?
We just filled up our water tank for the first time. A small stream of water is coming out of a small hose underneath however.
I assume this hose is for draining the RV for winterizing.
Picture: Picture link
Does anyone know how to stop this? We're going to use the fifth wheel so don't want the water to drain. For now, I bent the hose so it stops draining the water.
Does this hose need a cap? Perhaps a switch somewhere?
Thanks!

IMO, that's the main drain for the fresh water tank. Nearly all low point drains are red and blue. I'd take the wire off, cut the hose shorter and add an on/off valve.
LyleIF that's actually the tank drain, I'd want a valve above the floor, next to the tank, (as mine is) rather than crawling under the RV to drain the tank.
As far as the low point drains, mine are plain white PVC with caps.

RE: Water tank has a drain?
Is there a valve above the floor where that hose attaches, at or near the water tank, if so that would be your tank drain valve, if not then there should be a valve and or a cap on the end of that hose.
Look around, there should also be a couple more hoses hanging down underneath with caps, they would be your low point drains.

RE: BIG CHANGES ARE COMING SOON (Nov 15 2023)
Oh, I hate change! :B
Thanks and glad admins are looking forward. I personally can't say "Hate", although I don't adapt to it really well.
I hope this isn't a Reinvent the Wheel when only a tweek is necessary, or in this case, a Few tweeks. But, as said, I'll give it a try.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm pretty much NON Tech Savy, but right now i can't see it being any worse than it currently is.
Maybe now we'll be able to get our signature photos back that just mysteriously disappeared.

RE: Fifth Wheel Tag Renewal
And NC uses a dubious method. You add up personal property tax, inspection, and tags you pay as much as CA. The way I read it sounds like he's talking about tag renewal alone is 800, my 2 cars, pickup, and 30ft Class C doesn't come to anywhere near that, now personal property tax is another matter all together.
I guess everyone pays something, where ever you are, we (and other states) pay personal property tax, NY has a school tax, (In addition to your land taxes) whether you actually have children in school or not.

RE: 2006 Fleetwood Tioga 26Q 4 season capability?
Spend the winter months in the southern states where it does not freeze hard, and northern states in the summer. X-2, best answer.

RE: Can I Dump Through Sewer Vent?
Might not make the city sewer administrators to happy. But--when we built our new house we had the plumbing fixed so I have a dump port that goes into the city sewer. They approved the plumbing so I guess in our case it was ok. This would be my worry, having a city/county
employee knocking on my door, "Here's your Fine", but then every place isn't the same so maybe you'll get away with it, maybe not, check your local ordinances relating to your idea.

RE: The Price Is Right
Considering an F350 or equal, would be in excess of $80K, but more likely an F450 + would be needed, add at least another 80 +/- for that Peterbuilt depending on year and options, the 5er could be anyones guess, again depending brand and options, but just my wild guess says midnightsadie might be low at $200k . Of course this is all just my opinion.

I don't know about all RV's, but I thought most, or all newer RV's came with a battery disconnect.

RE: Maine Coastal Campground Suggestions
I always recommend Acadia National Park, which includes Bar Harbor. There are a bunch of campgrounds in that area, including two inside the park that have limited (or no) hookups. We have stayed at Blackwoods campground inside the park a few times.
Great place to hike and bike. Or try the forgotten part of Acadia, Schoodic Woods CG, great CG, a bit of a drive back to Bar Harbor, but well worth it. https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/251833

RE: What is UPSN and how do you track it?
It's mainly a vacuum because this is a sort of hybrid delivery service: UPS (or whomever it was) ships it most of the way, and then turns it over to the USPS for local delivery. Your tracking number is just for the USPS part of that process. Since the local delivery part happens very quickly, possibly just from your local post office to your mailbox, and USPS updates their tracking info relatively infrequently, you don't get much useful information. Doubtless UPS is internally tracking the shipment through their systems for the first part of its journey, but alas you don't have access to that with the USPS tracking number.
If you (or the company you were buying from) wanted shipping with more complete tracking information, they could choose a less inexpensive shipping option, e.g. one where the shipper themselves delivered the parcel to your door.DHL does the same, they pick it up at Point A, their tracking says it was shipped, (End of tracking, till it gets somewhere between A & D,) where it is handed off to USPS, then you get a USPS tracking #, when you get the item is anybody's guess.

I like that idea, just load the 63 National Parks, Monuments and such, of course you're still going to see places while you travel that sound interesting to you, "Hey, Lets Stop and see that".

Initial glance, I thought your door seal is bad, but you say it's sticky, so that's not normally a seal, doesn't look like just the right side, looks like all the way across the top.

This is what nick is talking about, should work for pulling the valve, but no so great for pushing it back in, (unless perhaps if you modify it)https://www.campingworld.com/dometic-awning-pull-rod-46-4430.html
